Why You Never Hear Back After Applying for a Job

You’re not qualified.

What to do: Create a strong resume so once a job opens up, you can quickly customize and submit it, so you’re one of the first available candidates.

Hiring managers don’t have the time.

If a hiring manager posts a job and gets hundreds of resumes, they simply don’t have the time to respond to each one. Some will set up automated responses, where they can send out a form rejection email. However, many don’t, so don’t be surprised when you don’t hear anything.

What to do: Make sure your resume stands out and gets noticed by a hiring manager so you do hear back. Take your time customizing it for each position, make sure it doesn’t contain any errors, and focus on your track record of success and accomplishments in it.
